Refund Policy

1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for purchases made through FoundByAI. It applies alongside our Terms of Service. All amounts are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and all payments are processed by Stripe.
2. Instant AI Audit (NZD $9.99)
The Instant AI Audit is a digital product that is generated and delivered to you automatically the moment payment is confirmed. Because the report is produced on demand using paid AI compute and is delivered immediately, the purchase is non-refundable once the full report has been generated.
If the report fails to generate due to a technical fault on our end (for example, our system errors out and you never receive a report), email hello@foundbyai.co.nz within 7 days and we will either re-run the audit at no extra cost or provide a full refund.
3. Quick Fix packages, Base Package & productised add-ons
- Before work begins: Cancel any time before we kick off and receive a full refund, less any third-party fees already incurred on your behalf (for example, software licences or paid tooling purchased for your project).
- Once work has started: You may cancel at any time. We will refund the portion of the fee not yet allocated to work performed. Work performed includes discovery, research, drafts, implementation, and review time logged against your project.
- Once delivered:Completed deliverables are non-refundable. If something we delivered isn't what was scoped, tell us — we'll fix it under our re-work commitment (see below).
4. Monthly retainers
- Retainers are billed monthly in advance and are month-to-month — no long-term lock-in.
- You may cancel at any time by giving at least 14 days' notice before your next billing date. Email hello@foundbyai.co.nz to cancel.
- Retainer fees already paid for the current month are non-refundable, but you remain entitled to the full scope of work for that month until the cycle ends.
- Unused hours or deliverables within a billing month do not roll over.
5. Re-work commitment
We'd rather make it right than process a refund. If a deliverable materially differs from what was agreed in scope, let us know within 14 days of deliveryand we'll revise it at no additional cost until it matches the agreed scope.
6. What is not refundable
- The Instant AI Audit once the report has been generated and delivered.
- Work that has already been performed, including time logged on discovery, strategy, drafts, and implementation.
- Third-party costs paid on your behalf (for example, domain registrations, software subscriptions, paid APIs, stock assets).
- Retainer fees for the current billing month once that month has begun.
- Dissatisfaction with results that depend on factors outside our control — including AI engine behaviour, search rankings, traffic, conversion rates, and revenue outcomes. We do not guarantee specific results (see Section 5 of our Terms of Service).
7. How to request a refund
To request a refund or cancel a retainer, email us at:
Please include:
- The email address used at checkout
- The date of purchase
- The Stripe receipt or order reference, if you have it
- A short note describing the issue
We aim to respond within 2 business days and process approved refunds within 5–10 business days. Refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe.
8. Chargebacks
If you have an issue with a charge, please contact us first — most questions are resolved within a day. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may delay resolution and, in the case of unwarranted chargebacks, may result in suspension of future services.
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply.
